A: Brought to you by the folks behind IBM’s Open P-TECH, P-TECH Connect is a new social space where you can learn more about what’s happening in the world of technology, connect and chat with other Open P-TECH users, and join specific groups. If your school is registered on Open P-TECH, for example, you can join groups that are just for your school.

A: Got an Open P-TECH account? Then YOU can join us on P-TECH Connect. Once you navigate to the P-TECH Connect site, simply sign in with your Open P-TECH login.

Q: Why should I join P-TECH Connect? What’s in it for me?

Q: Why’s it important to connect with other Open P-TECH users?

A: Ever had a burning question about Open P-TECH but didn’t know who to ask? Ever see something really cool in one of the courses and wanted to share it with the world? Entering the job market soon and want some advice from others who’ve been there, done that?

THAT is why connection matters. It takes a village, right? Plus—it’s one more way to socialize with others while pandemic restrictions have so many of us shut up tight in our houses.

Q: I’m a teacher. Why should I care about P-TECH Connect?

A: There’s a Teachers Lounge we invented just for you! We know that allllll the real tea gets discussed here. So hope on and talk to your fellow educators about tips, tricks, and more to help optimize the platform for your students. You can also create groups for your classes, which gives your students a way to socialize in a safe space; they can chat about the platform, ask you questions, or just say “hi”!

Q: You keep saying “groups”. What groups? 

A: Sooooooooooooo… many… groooooooooups. There’s a Newcomers Portal—this is where you can go when you first join and are trying to get the lay of the land.

We’ve got an Open P-TECH Group/Topic/Feature Requests group so you can tell us what you’d like to see on P-TECH Connect. You’ve got the power! There’s a Teacher Resources group so educators can sound off about the Teacher Toolkit, a Peer to Peer Tech Support group, and private groups just for schools.
